Berq – Achilles

For BERQ’s ACHILLES, the first single from his ROTE FLAGGEN EP, we developed a visual narrative exploring the strange disconnect between emotional trauma and the moment we begin to feel its consequences. Inspired by a motorcycle accident I experienced in my early twenties, the concept draws a parallel between heartbreak and physical shock. After crashing on a wet summer road, I instinctively picked up my damaged motorcycle and continued home, only realizing the extent of what had happened once I arrived. That strange moment of functioning despite being hurt became the emotional foundation of our film. Translating this personal memory into a metaphor for heartbreak, we created a narrative about the instinct to carry on before the pain catches up with us, capturing the surreal space between the initial impact and the moment we finally begin to feel it.
